I expected wrinkles. I expected reading glasses. I did not expect to spend this much time thinking about my scalp.
There are plenty of things nobody tells you about getting older. Your hair changing is apparently one of them.
It may not behave the way it used to. It may not look quite as full. You start noticing your part a little more. And suddenly you find yourself taking pictures of the top of your head in lighting you would normally avoid at all costs.
Welcome to aging. It’s always something.
So when I had the opportunity to partner with NULASTIN, I was interested — particularly because the brand talks about something I hadn’t given much thought to before: elastin.

Wait — What Does Elastin Have to Do With Hair?
We’ve all heard about collagen. Keratin, too.
But elastin?
That was new to me.
NULASTIN describes elastin as a protein that surrounds and helps anchor hair follicles. And just like collagen, our natural elastin declines over time. Aging, stress and environmental factors can contribute to its breakdown.
That’s the idea behind NULASTIN’s hair products. The brand’s Elastaplex® Technology is designed to replenish elastin at the root, help reduce visible shedding and enhance the appearance of fuller-looking hair.
And those last words matter to me: fuller-looking hair.
I’m not looking for a magic potion that promises I’ll wake up tomorrow morning with the hair I had at 25.
I want something realistic that fits into my life and makes my hair look and feel better now.
What I’m Trying: NULASTIN Vibrant Scalp Treatment
The product I’m especially interested in is the NULASTIN HAIR Vibrant Scalp Treatment.
It’s a lightweight scalp serum designed to reduce visible shedding and amplify the look of fullness.
The treatment contains NULASTIN’s Elastaplex® Technology, a proprietary blend of biodesigned proteins and signal peptides formulated to replenish elastin.
It’s also vegan, dermatologist tested and cruelty-free.
How I’m Using It
NULASTIN recommends:
- Starting with dry or damp hair — not soaking wet hair, which can dilute the formula.
- Applying 2–3 pumps directly to the scalp and areas you’re concerned about.
- Gently massaging it into the scalp.
- Applying it twice a day, morning and night.
- Leaving it in — there’s no need to rinse.
Consistency seems to be the key here.
NULASTIN says its clinical testing showed visible changes beginning in the 6–12 week range, so this isn’t going to be one of those “I used it twice and LOOK!” reviews.
Frankly, I prefer that.
I’m Taking the Before Picture
This may be the least glamorous part of my job.
I’m taking a real BEFORE picture of my hair and scalp.
No strategic comb-over.
No hair fibers.
No suddenly discovering the world’s most flattering overhead lighting for the AFTER photo.
If I’m going to do this, I want to actually see whether I notice a difference.
I’m particularly watching for two things:
Less visible shedding and fuller-looking hair.
I’ll report back.
There’s Actually an Entire NULASTIN Hair Routine
Once I started looking at the line, I realized the scalp treatment isn’t the only product.
NULASTIN also has a Vibrant Scalp Shampoo, Vibrant Scalp Conditioner, Vibrant Scalp Scrub and Vibrant Scalp Mask, plus a NuProtect™ Leave-In Primer.
The Vibrant Scalp Shampoo and Conditioner are designed to volumize and smooth while helping reduce breakage. The pre-shampoo Scalp Scrub is designed to remove buildup and gently exfoliate the scalp.
I like the scalp-first idea.
We’ve spent years putting products on the ends of our hair while mostly ignoring the place where our hair actually starts.
Apparently my scalp would like a little attention too.
And NULASTIN Isn’t Just About Hair
Another thing I didn’t realize: NULASTIN also makes products for lashes, brows and skin.
There’s a LASH Follicle Fortifying Serum for fuller-looking lashes, a BROW Shape Altering Serum for fuller-looking brows, and a Dermal Rejuvenating skincare collection focused on elasticity, firmness and hydration.
Apparently elastin has been quietly minding its own business while the rest of us have been talking about collagen for the last decade.
Who knew?
So…Does NULASTIN Work?
Ask me again after I’ve actually used it long enough to give you an answer.
You know I’m not going to tell you something is fabulous simply because somebody sent it to me.
What I can tell you is that the science and the idea of addressing the scalp caught my attention enough that I’m willing to commit to using it consistently.
I’m taking my before photos now.
Then we’ll compare.
No miracle claims. No magic lighting.
Just my hair.
Because at this point in life, I’m not particularly interested in looking 25.
I’d just like to keep what I’ve got.
